Titanic theme song sound clip
No music or a different kind for the movie: I believe the violin was a great music choice for this movie and I wouldn’t think it would be good to change it or to remove it completely. It would not make sense to the film and would confuse viewers if the music was not appropriate for the scene.
For example: I would not put a happy violin when the boat is sinking but I would play it when dinner is being served because it is a joyous time. Sounds for a particular genre: I would say that the orchestra played during most of the movie makes it seems like it’s from an older time and was played at diner time when the rich people gathered to chat and eat.Įffects on the Titanic: For this specific film, it was expected to have some different levels of music played. They play one last time together because they know it’s the end and they might not survive to play again. They keep on playing even though people are not listening to them. You can tell that this music is very sad and that not everyone will be saved. The video clip is presented at the beginning of this blog. Sound impacting the mood of the scene: The particular scene I’ve chosen for this movie is when the ship is sinking and the orchestra decides to play one last song. One popular song for the soundtrack of the movie was “My Heart Will Go On” made famous by Céline Dion. For the sound effects, often there is violin or instruments being played throughout the movie such as when Rose and Jack are having fun dancing on the lower levels of the ship and also when the ship is sinking. There is also some voice-over when the old Rose talks about how her memories unfolded. The soundtrack is usually not an orchestra and it’s a choice of multiple songs with dialogue at times.ĭifferent categories of sound in Titanic:In this movie, there is dialogue between the characters like people having a regular conversation. This music is often specifically written for a particular movie (Goodykoontz & Jacobs, 2011). The score is the music in the background played in specific scenes. Music: There are two types of music in a film: the score and the soundtrack. The popular sound effects like the sound of a crowd are usually mixed in at the at post production and recorded separately when editing the sound. Example: “The sound of the light sabers in the Star Wars films was created by recording and processing the hum of a projector motor found at the University of Southern California where director George Lucas had been a student” (Goodykoontz & Jacobs, 2011). Foley Artists and Unconventional Sound effects are not easy to achieve and a lot of effort is put into these sounds. Sound effects: There is what’s called Foley Artist, Unconventional Sound Effects and popular sound effects. In the dialogue, there is also something called voice-over which is a narration of the action taking place.
Three different categories of sound: Dialogue: A dialogue is something very simple Its the characters in a movie talking to each other with different languages or styles depending on the film Era and or genre (Goodykoontz & Jacobs, 2011).
